Scrapping free passes won't save that much. Pensioners will just stay at home more.

WELL PUT.
Sir.
There is quite an easy way to put more money into the pot which the think tank has not approached.
That is that is, that an upper limit on earnings be created until the recession is over.
"WE ARE ALL IN THIS TOGETHER"
That the maximum that any person whether in parliament, civil service, business, finance, sportsman, Trade union general secretary
No worker, shall not earn more than £1,500 per week before tax, from their contractual earnings, including promotions, or bonuses,
The residue shall be paid to the treasury, thereby clearing the national debt in two years.
Pensioners who are being targeted by the think tank rich, would retain, that which they worked for, and earned, will not be penalise in such a way as to curtail their life span by inferior fuel supply through high fuel cost nor would the present standard of existing be lowered

dont take advice from an ifa
if a pension was any good , the working man would not hear of it
it would be kept inhouse so all the suits would get the best deal
i know i took advice from an ifa its cost me and still does 1000s
the worst of pensioners are the hard working class who saved a little to help there pension but what happens do nothing and get the basic and then give you every thing with the other hand what aload of bullshit all pensionsers should be the same
i worked save and got a little pension on top of state pension a relative spent all his life in gail i whish i could get all the hand outs he gets . this whole system wonts removing. very bitter
You talk of a pension of £7710 after all these sacrifices.
A pension that you could not live on.
The Bankers, City Managers, Retired politicians, Footballers, Media personalities believe they need to be paid in the millions or they are hard done by. They deserve their pay and have earned it!
Is there something horrible wrong with our society. Stresses like this can only lead to trouble.
Why were the kids rioting last year, was it the gang culture or possible they sense that something is not right.
Lets face it,Gordon Brown screwed us all with our Pension Funds.
Robert Maxwell did the same & he was hunted down, but mysteriously died.
Gordon Brown was never prosecuted for theft or embezzelment of public funds was he.
I've followed all the pension advice and wish I hadn't. I lost one pension when Equitable went bust. Another was stolen by Gordon Brown. and the government are trying and will probably suceed in stealing most of my last pension.
I should have invested it all in property. Or the pub
