This government is mental and they needs to go to see Dr's all of them. They are like punch of scum high society breed who never been to government funded schools or do they ever communicates with working class ever in their lives so they do not have money problems because they were born in a family where money comes through means of corruption so they believe all are like them all crooks.

The fact is working class with or without recession are poor forever because of the salary bands attached to their jobs. Almost all gets minimum wage, which is £6.08p to £6.50 per hour so after their 37.5 hours they left with £198 in hands.

Most are single and struggling to meet the living cost so study my living lifestyle along with hundreds i know.

I left with £50 for food and living expenses which is not enough when it comes at the end of the weak so home is too borring on weekends because without money it is hell.

I work on weekends earning £60 in hands both days which is my saving for rainy days where some days i am sick in a year so this helps me paying bills. This is good until i have job many i know who have lost and along with job losses they have nil because could anyone survive on £56 JSA money?

Look around you where couple the partners are falling down because one loose the job they fall because of debt and cannot pay off other debt so it is happening so it happened to me for real.

This government needs to creates jobs and they need to bring back the troops because that war is not our war we never been invited or did they ever asked for it we went to stop terror coming to our streets.

I am looking to buy a property below £250,000 and as I have never bought a property myself before, only in partnership with someone else, why do I not qualify as a first time buyer? Can anyone tell me?

Having said that we all know that the housing market is flat and in the hands of the government ( if it wants ) to revive it by insisting the banks offer less severe mortgage conditions rather than stuffing the money into their fat balance sheets and the other less popular destination for their profits

The News last week specifically stated that the Stamp Duty holiday was being withdrawn by the government because it had not made any impact on house sales.

This week the government started a panic over the potential for a shortage of motor fuel. Now we know that the earliest date for a tanker drivers' strike would be something like 17th April.

Do Ministers and spokesmen know what day it is?

Given the state of mortgage rates, once someone has a deposit, houses are actually way more affordable than they were when I bought my first house- this by comparing the price when that actual house was sold recently, the mortgage rates - 11% was a good rate then-and the salaries of my staff doing the job I was doing then. There are too many greedy people in the housing chain taking lots for doing little, and the house builders still expect obscene profits. Taking the tax off only puts money in their pockets, like any other effective subsidy- remember the removal of car tax ? Our already grossly inflated pre-tax car prices just went up by the same amount. Buying a house was always hard, you did not expect to immediately fill it with new carpets and a suite of new white goods as seems to be the norm now.
And the housing market is not wholly associated with real economic growth, rather the phony Gordon Brown borrowing induced growth we saw from '97 onwards. The essence of this so-called growth being exemplified thus: I want to buy a car; I cannot afford it, so I borrow money to cover the car, insurance, first tank of fuel, etc, and then buy a car for a borrowed £20,000, drive it off the forecourt and it's suddenly worth £12,000, for which I will pay, say £24,000, but I now claim that I am £20,000 better off in my total wealth. Sadly, many people will probably think I would be that £20,000 better off. Replace that with "I want to buy the votes of millions of pampered public sector workers; I will borrow th money to make up millions of new non-jobs...".
Other parts of the economy are way more important to growth, mainly manufacturing, and yes, house building is part of manufacturing, but a distorted one that provides easy pickings for the hangers-on.
