Plea to Queen over NHS Jubilee pay

We should leave our Eueen out of this dispute! She is our Royal Lady .. and by her most high position is above giving her personal opinion on these matters ..
I believe that NHS staff should have the opportunity to enjoy and enter into celebrations as much as all others. NHS employers need to give them FULL opportunity to do so. It would be a sad day in our nation if staff who are British subjects of out Royal Lady were not given fair and normal enhanced rates due for public holiday working," Our goverment to make an all out decision to have the matter rsolved.
However, the Queen should not be asked to enter into this dispute! Please give her her rightful place!

The NHS has always been like this over unsocial hours pay and bank holiday pay enhancements, nurses have in the past been reluctant to take action as it could put patients at risk. I was a Registered Nurse for over 40 years, rarely spending a Christmas with my family , never getting enhanced pay for "extra bank holidays" worked or time in lieu, hard done by ? YES and I don't blame present day staff one little bit for being dissatisfied, as they are paid at the lower end of the scale for their skill and qualification level anyway, nurses are valued much more abroad than in this country, especially in the USA, this government needs to realise that if theres no pay they won't stay.

NHS workers should receive enhanced bank holiday pay rates but it won't be for the Queen to decide. She doesn't get involved in politics!

I bet all the civil servants would get the pay if any off them were working. The government think tank would like to scrap all bank holidays to save £ 18 billion ? ,we already have the lowest holidays and longest hours in Europe .

why all the horrid backlash to NHS workers. We work damn hard. The private sector have had it good all these years and now we are in a recession the public sector get critised. We are are on low pay with an indefiente pay freeze already! Utter disgrace we dont get enhanced pay for a Bank Holiday!

I beleive that there is already a massive difference between private & public sector pay & conditions, I should know as I work for the private sector & my husband for the NHS. The Queens Jubilee will be a normal working day for me as was the Royal Wedding, Either it is a bank holiday for all or it isn't, if you work a bank holiday you get enhanced rates.

Scottish NHS is also treating it as a normal working day. Why? We were all given a Public Holiday for the wedding last year.

its absurd that the Queen should be asked to get involved in such stuff! at 85 years of age,and a lifetimes good services she is a wise and honest person and she will stay well clear of politics and whether people should get extra on her BIG DAY, God Bless and keep you Ma'am PS,its no biggy,as nowadays we have 24/7 media to keep us aware of every tiny mistake she makes !! God SAVE US ! where are those folk coming from,

What and where is the problem?
The day has been allocated as a Bank Holiday, therefor should be paid at bank holiday rate. We do not get paid extra to work Christmas day if it falls on a weekend, and indeed none of us are in the job for the money, but should we really be expected to work for nothing?
For those of you thinking the hospitals wind down at weekends and BH, some dept. and the managers do, however this can cause more problems for ward based staff, as people are still ill 24/7 and emergencies will still be admitted

The Trust i work for are giving us a day in lieu if you work or dont work on the bank holiday, so indirectly we are getting paid extra...it was the same for the recnt Royal wedding. Im quite happy with this...
