Well one day all the people making these rules on what to spend on the elderly will one day be old themselves. Hopefully they will get treated the same by the people then in charge. I shall be watching up on a cloud somewhere and laughing. .remember "As I am now so shall you be one day"

Work hard all your life, always pay your taxes, in a lot of cases fight for your country, never so much as park on a double yellow line, and what do you get at the end of it................BUGGER ALL !!!!
Cheat the system, constantly breaking the law, have half a dozen kids for convenience rather than out of love for them, and what do you get ................ EVERYTHING !!!!
It's about time that these sponging chavs got sorted by this useless bunch of prats we call a Government, and start doing something for the country.
IF NOT SOD OFF TO SOME PLACE WHERE THEY DON'T GIVE A STUFF WHAT YOU DO OR WHERE YOU DO IT !
I done more as a neighbor to the lady next door phone calls up to 10 a day asking for help son moved away to avoid and home help popping in twice a day and doing sod all feeding her beans on toast ,apart from meals on wheels which she hated when son finally put her into a care home didnt even have the grace to say she had passed away ,what made me angry was when she was waiting to go to home I told son that her post office account was standing at £600 which i had been careful to only allow so much lying around her house and he was mad PO was shut being a sat and he couldnt get his hands on cash

The LA's should be encouraging the service users to spend their DLA/AA on care instead of letting it sit in the bank or paying the gardener

May 16 2012 at 11:29 AM Report abuse Permalink +5 rate up rate down ReplyIts £524.00 per week in a care home, I know my mother is in one, they are good but it consumes her money very quickly. She worked from 14 retired at 62, she is now 91 my father worked from 16, was in bombers through the war and retired aged 61 on ill health died at 82 and get no assistance from the state, tell me thats fair, everything they saved for ids being spent keeping Mam alive, yet neither claimed many days sickness nor took one days dole money when out of work, they took lesser jobs to get by until better jobs could be had, but could have taken dole and been looked after. Why save to tip it all up to greedy governemnts and Councils???????
May 16 2012 at 11:18 AM Report abuse Permalink +5 rate up rate down ReplyIts frightening, I was born disabled, and I have told my husband that if he goes before me, I will take an overdoes of pills rather than make me sell our home to pay for my care in a home,my husband has so far worked his balls off for 33 years, our home will be left to our only child simply that, it won't be going to our local council!
May 16 2012 at 10:15 PM Report abuse Permalink +6 rate up rate down ReplyI get your point but I'm sure your only child would rather have you still alive and paying for a care home than have to deal with your suicide and inherit your house.
