It is about time the goverment did somthing about rich people living in council homes. M.Ps union bosses A Number of the MP stated they want to live in council homes to be near there constituets AS a union member said he would not leave his council home. If that is the case they should pay rent according to their high salaries. And stop young girls who get pregnant so they can have a council house or flat paid for by the state.

Thatcher hated the thought of council homes so she brought in a carrot to dangle in front of tenants to buy their homes and thousands did , sine then we have had more and more immigrants breeding and getting social homes, more and more coming from Eastern Europe jobs taken up by polish more and more polish shops are appearing in small towns in the London boroughs , Eastern European gypsies are every where with the 'Big issue'. and are seen but not dealt with aggressive begging. We see more and more money transfer shops where our money is sent overseas , I bet if a check was made not much money from other countries is coming into this country .
Sports tax free wining's ,are going to other countries banks , Millions of pounds , last year the winners of wimbledon took away a tax free Million pounds each , even if a brit was to win most don't live here , where does all the money from football go to,? the likes of Beckham who is worshiped here took his millions to America , multi millionaire pop singers have taken the cash they got over here to America to avoid paying tax to this country. MP's claiming tax free expenses, tax free to them but not to the people paying it. couples who are on over 30 K each can afford to buy a home even in London , but council homes should be for British people first and no queue jumping ,
NHS should be given to those who have contributed to the NI and so should state pension, my husband ran off to live in America ,when he retires he can claim his state pension from my NI contributions and it is the same in another country or here , but my hard earned NI contributions money will be going into an American bank. This country is not all about council homes but it need a damn good shake up of where all our money is going then homes can be built.
Grinning grant shapps needs to work out that loads more small affordable starter homes need to be built. Allow people to get on to the housing ladder with smaller mortgages and not have to stump up enormous deposits. Also replace all the council houses that were lost from 'the right to buy cheaply' scheme. If they dont get on and do something soon, there will be a housing catastrophe.
So many properties are now second homes or bought purely for the rental market, and rents are so high that for average people they're out of reach, once in a rented property there is no hope of finding a deposit for a mortgage. A marathon home building scheme would help the economy grow, the big builders could be given incentives to produce, simple low cost homes. (I dont mean conservative mates bungs when I say incentives). All this things would help our country hugely. One drawback, they dont conform with Tory ideals, and Shapps wouldn't see the value of it.
Ha they have a cheek to do that now when they allowed people to buy the council housing stock! Most of which it seems are now private lets.So in turn people who are not allowed a council house or are asked to pay more rent will turn to private lets. Thatcher knew what she was doing ....and so it continues now.
