June 14 2012 at 6:11 AM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyThe problem here is the complete lack of understanding on the part of the Argentinians. They have no geographical claim - the islands fall well outside any UN set guidelines otherwise Liverpool would be part of France. They have no historical claim, the islands were settled before the State of Argentina was founded and they have no claim on the basis of wealth.
The best thing here is for the UN to take a god-given chance to finally smack down these upstart countries and say you have no claim, go away. Of course they won't.
Once the vote is taken, if the isalnders vote to stay British, the UN should state categorically that the matter is now closed and no further advances by Argentina will be tolerated.
shame he don't pledge to defend the English in England.nothing like feeling like a foreigner in your home land !
