This should never have happened, The petrol fitment to the tank should be a different fitment for the deisel. it's not rocket science.

I wouldn't mind betting that the percentage of those driving off without paying, is much higher..

It could have been one persons error or a chain of events that caused this. One thing for sure, a little more diligence all round is needed in future. I would not be happy if it happened to me, but sh*t happens and you deal with it. No point in blaming anyone until you find out what really happened, its not going to change what happened but it could prevent it happening again.

June 21 2012 at 8:21 AM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyThis is getting ridiculous. Doesn't ANYBODY do a decent job these days!! Fact is NO. You have to have eyes in the back of your head, check everything (not that this is check-able). And it's all very well paying for repairs, but these costs are only going to be passed onto the customer somehow, putting the overall cost of living up.

June 21 2012 at 8:16 AM Report abuse Permalink +1 rate up rate down ReplyIt also happened at one of the Sainsbury's in Edinburgh, affecting a friend's car badly, and no doubt, a lot of others!
June 21 2012 at 7:36 AM Report abuse Permalink +1 rate up rate down ReplyDon't forget it was the tanker drivers who held the country to ransom a few months ago planning strike action and causing mayhem by the public bulk buying fuel.
The responsibility for this error not only lies with the tanker driver but also the person receiving the tanker on site from the petrol station both people are supposed to check that the proper connections are in plac e.
Oh dear, somebody not concentrating on the job in hand. These are the people who were going on strike to get more money. Well sadly some need a reduction in salary when they do not make certain of what they are doing when it can cause such problems putting the wrong fuel into your engine.
