A good practice in theory but what about all the overseas graduates they are competing against how do they check their degrees particualy if they have studied abroad

kennett127 - again verify the authenticity of the claimed qualification with the Awarding Body - they don't take on an Indian or American who says he is aa pilot without checking out his qualifications .
Most CV 's vary from being economical with the truth to outright lying - so you check out in detail the shortlisted candidates and double check again the selected candidate before offering them the job - its Buyer Beware - if you hire a cretin its your fault .
And ignore written references - they all promise you will perform like God - if they said anything les you would not show them to the potential employer unless you were totally stupid .
And in my experience those who claim to perform like God usually actually perform like Dog - run around in circles for one hour then and rest for 6 !!!!!
If a business does not verify qualifications with the Awarding Authority concerned ( University, Examining or Professional Board ) then they frankly deserve all the problems they get .
So they simply take your word you are a brain surgeon, accountant or pilot !!!!!!
It costs the price of a phone call or an e mail to check . Assume all claims are lies if not checked to confirm accuracy - that way nobody going to get through the net
