Jimmy Carr has said he made a terrible error of judgment?
No he did not!!! It's perfectly legal no error was made by Jimmy!
But there was a morral error made and it been made by David Camoron!
Camoron attacked Carr on a personal level that was wrong, Now let's see
if he doe's the same with his own cabinet, Camoron new about this loophole because
he use's it. Now will he be honourable and resign? NO HE HAS THE MORALS OF SATIN
klvpfife - I think you mean the morals of SATAN - if you can avoid the tax you can sfford the SATIN.
And SATAN had a tax bill for £999 million - his tax advisor showed him how to legally reduce it to 666 - even the CPS Couldn't Prosecute Satan !!!!
Now I am feeling sorry for him, NOT! Pity, NOT!

June 21 2012 at 6:23 AM Report abuse Permalink -1 rate up rate down Replysunderland - it isn't tax dodging - its tax avoidence - tax dodging is criminal - tax avoidence perfectly legal.
For example you can put £11K in an ISA and avoid tax - the Government even encourage people to do so.!!!!!
Oh come on now. Who wouldn't use this scheme if they could. I know I bloody well would!
June 21 2012 at 5:48 AM Report abuse Permalink +1 rate up rate down ReplyHe'll move his main residence to the Isle of Man or someother tax lighter base - again perfectly legal?
Good luck to him, wish I was in a position to do the same.
Surely the government ison a sticky wicket here by naming and shaming Mr carr, could they be guilty of breaking the law as regards data protection by naming him. I'm sure anybody out there wouldn't want to be named by the government about their own tax affairs. At the end of the day this wasn't illegal.

June 21 2012 at 5:12 AM Report abuse Permalink +3 rate up rate down ReplyIt just goes to show, if our taxation system was revised and the higher rate tax reduced, then there wouldn't be a need for the very wealthy to use a tax shelter and in turn would bring increased revenue to the Government coffers, this also happened in the late 60's when the super wealthy left Britain in droves when the upper rate reached 95%, basically higher rate tax is uncollectable because an army of financial advisers are available to avoid it with legitimate schemes and tax havens. If there was a simple three tier scheme for personal tax of 0% for the very poor, 10% for the lower paid and 20% for everyone else it would generate far more revenue than the present system and virtually wipe out any avoidance schemes that would become too costly to administer.
June 21 2012 at 4:56 AM Report abuse Permalink +2 rate up rate down ReplyQuite right. Any ideas about what jobs the army of reduntant accountants may seek? I'm all for your scheme though, then we might just get GB making some money again..................
June 21 2012 at 5:01 AM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyThe army of accountants would be best placed assisting the small to medium business enterprises (less profitable but far more rewarding), the UK economy is lead by the SME and at the moment they are disenfranchised by the multinational corporations. 80% of the UK GDP comes from SME's. The Local Enterprise Partnerships (LEP) are lead by the largest organisations and very little representation from the small business owners 1-6 employees. Relaxed lending on the lower scale to generate growth is essential, and as much assistance as possible to the small business by way of grants and relaxed business rates will pull this country out of recession
June 21 2012 at 5:59 AM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate downNice idea but while the very wealthy are making the rules and running the country reform stands as much chance as Ms Cole marrying into royalty.

June 21 2012 at 4:56 AM Report abuse Permalink +3 rate up rate down Replypricj8 - HMRC have known of this K2 scheme for 8 years and raised no objection . These schemes must by law be pre notified to HMCS under DOTAS Rules - last year 4506 schemes were notified . I haven't got this year's figures to date but it wil be pro rata about 2000 to date .
David Milliband and Ken Livingstone use similar schemes as do many others - many of them are designed by ex HMRC Staff who quit being "gamekeepers " and become " poachers " and with their inside knowledge run rings round the Revenue - nobody tries to stop them even though it would take only moments to do so .
It also gives them an advantage over other financial advisors not ex HMRC - sour grapes admittedly !!!!!!!!
