I NEVER WRITE BUT I'M APPALLED AT THE PRIME MINISTERS COMMENTS.
Who the hell does he think he's calling morally wrong??
From a man that's raised VAT by 25% since Jan 2010 ! !!!!
His austerity measures have put more children in child poverty, pensioners can no longer afford to heat their homes and now, to top it all, he's got the Doctor's on strike because he's welching on a deal done 4 years ago.
I think it's Cameron that's morally wrong.
And here's a fact.
I have voted Conservative since I was 15, when we had a mock election at school. I'm 60 this year.
If I'd have known what this government was going to do to our country, I would never have voted for them.
I don't suppose Cameron will read this, but I'm not on my own with these thoughts.
Sorry to all the folk on here who think it is wrong to avoid paying tax but sad to say its human nature. There are not many people who would not do exactly the same if they were being taxed at the present rate. The only way to solve this issue is to reduce the top rate of tax to 30% and raise the threshold allowance for low paid to £20K this would be a fair way of taxing and would result in the high earners paying their tax in full. Instead with the present system it is more cost effective to pay high priced Tax accountants to save you money. We should not forget that about 25% of all tax is paid by 1% of top earners so lots of people are paying plenty. And truthfully would you like over half your income swallowed in tax or would you as those accused seek a solution to save you money.

DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT DAVE.
HE WILL LIFT A FINGER IN DISGUST, AND MAKE ALL THE RIGHT NOISES, BUT THERE WILL BE NO REAL CHANGES.
To many friends and family might have to pay their tax's as well.
Makes you wonder who is paying tax in this country.
I should imagine quite a few people will be wondering if their names will in the Times.
I cannot believe that any M.Ps, would use tax avoidence schemes.
Or, are they all ringing their accountants, demanding to know why they are not in this scheme.
Morally wrong, Does he include the likes of Green and Branson.
I think an easy solution to cover the likes of carr and celeb's would be, to have their earnings taxed at source, similar to the building industry, then they would have to claim like other self employed at the end of the year.
Depends on your point of view Dave. I think it's morally wrong to take shed loads of money from me & my family & give it to lazy people.
June 21 2012 at 4:27 AM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyMy word! Did Mr Ca-moron even bother to engage his brain before he spoke on this one. There's no way he is not using tax avoidance - really does need to be ousted.
June 21 2012 at 4:18 AM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyIf people are doing something illegal they should be prosecuted. If not then shut up and close all the loop holes. Then again we all know these loopholes are left in place for the benefit of the rich. My disabled wife has to pay £550 tax because of a mistake the government made 3 years ago although see is no longer able to work and has no income.

Now get the other buggers to do the same ;especially with overseas havens . Fat chance ;they feel it's their divine right to have HUGE amounts of money
I am sick to death of being told what to do by hippocrites like Cameron. Jimmy Carr may be wrong to try to avoid paying tax but we would all do it if we could and what he did wasn't illegal. What sticks in my craw is being lectured by Cameron when all his buddies do the same thing. Philip Green is a classic example also companies like PayPal but they turn a blind eye to them.
Cameron has no idea what life is like for most people in this country and should shut up about things he knows so little about. Look to your own Dave - tax should be paid by all not just those of us on PAYE, we are at the mercy of HMRC.
The PM should get his own house in order before he singles out somebody for tax avoidance. There is more corruption in Government and Business than anywhere else...
J Carr didn't break a law, just used a loophole, wish we could all do it....
I suggest that the PM needs to 'Put his long trousers on' (grow up). We don't need 'moralising', and self regulation as in the case of the Banks! we need a set of proper rules which everyone has to adhere to AND ACTUALLY CUT OUT THIS SORT OF NONSENSE. That is what we expect our PM to sort out, not go around moralising like an out of work Churchman...................
June 21 2012 at 3:29 AM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyHe has to be careful, though... many of the Tory donors avoid paying tax, and he wouldn't want to upset them (indeed, he rewarded one tax-dodger with a peerage!)
