What's with this word slashed. Slashing brings conatations of fierce action and then all that happens is that the price is shaved by a measly few pence. To use slash correctly would require at least a 25/30% reduction. Any way as I infered earlier the prices are all fixed by colusion of the cartel.
July 16 2012 at 11:22 AM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyAlways good to see prices coming down but crude oil is down c30% from recent peak, petrol and diesel down c7%. Shouldn't we be seeing unleaded below £1 per litre?
June 26 2012 at 9:12 AM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyIts all a Scam! What is it with all these .7 & .9's its not legal tender you never get . anything change its allways rounded up, SCAM SCAM SCAM, Also we dont really need petol or Diesel vehicle will run on Alcohol, Hydrogen & Bio Fuels its just the Fuel Companies getting the Max outta the Fuels they want us to use!!!!
June 26 2012 at 7:23 AM Report abuse Permalink +1 rate up rate down ReplyI agree with wotsisface in the message below. The government appear to dictate fuel prices and you watch, they will add their 2p a litre just as they said they would, no matter what us public think.
June 26 2012 at 5:57 AM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyIt wouldn`t suprise me if these reductions were at the behest of the government, they would then get a slight drop in inflation figures and then try and con us that their policy`s are working, or am I just being cynical !!!

June 26 2012 at 3:30 AM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down Replyyou choose to live in devon wheres its much cheaper to live than in london, so enjoy it less stress for less money. Oh by the way i chose to live between london and mallorca to balance out the stress
June 26 2012 at 5:53 AM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate downWell said Pete!
If anybody thinks its cheaper to live in Devon, with the low wages ,high fuel and utility prices, a lot further to travel to get anything done.
Try to live here for a while and see how wrong you are, many people go back after only living here for a short time, due to cost.
Are they sure that the average UK car has a 71 litre tank? That's what size it would need to be for the quoted £10 a tank saving, and that's assuming that the tank was totally dry and empty -something that will not be if you've been able to drive to an out of town shop's fuel station.
With the number of really small cars I see on the rioad these days, I'm not sure they've quite got the maths right. On my car it works out at just under a fiver.. Good news, but don't let the facts get in the way of a good headline eh?
i have not been able to put more than a £10's worth in the car in the last 2 years,so really can't notice the extra mile or so i gain.
