Can anyone think of a good reason why as a society we tolerate the years of pain of a banking collapse through poor management, and then simply sit in awe of the fact that this failure was despite the banks ability to fiddle the figures at both ends. The obvious reason is we have no alternative, but there must be other factors that lead to our stupor over this and I am trying to establish some rational explanation. There is no business sense to what appears to be "common place" in the financial markets. Please remember the losses, lies and theft are from our own pockets in the long term.

He and the 3 highly executives should resign or be sacked. If a member of staff did anything remotely illegal they were immediately suspended while investigations took place and if found guilty were SACKED. What is the difference between them and the ordinary members of staff!!
Also what about the shareholders - the price of Barclays shares have been going down and down and this matter will not improve until the Board of Directors prove themselves to be beyond reproach and in touch with reality and the public at large.
Proverb - The British wrath is slow to rouse but when so is fearful to behold !!!
Bankers,Politicians and the like would be wise to take heed!
What will be the upshot then ?
you will find no one gives a flying f**k about anyone.
They should lose their bonus AND their jobs - but they are more likely to get more public money and a place in the lords.
Politicians will never take on the bankers so shame on them !
Just off to take my banking exams and chat to my pal in the banking system ... then buy my new car, house and yacht !
What a loathsome crowd they are. They make vutures and bluebottles comparatively attractive. Our elected leaders will shovel more assistance their way, continue devaluing our savings and increasing our taxes whilst giving them honours and seats in the Lords for contributing what exactly?

Haw,haw,haw....

The same people also think that the government has the peoples best interests at heart .
June 28 2012 at 10:33 AM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyOnly the Blind and the Stupid now think that Banks are in any way any more than a Bunch of CROOKS. They have wrecked our economy and that of the World - and still our weak and useless Politicians pander to these Criminals. I have been writing this sort of thing to all and sundry for about 7 years so now, finally, I will say it. I TOLD YOU SO!................Will anybody ever wake up and DO SOMEThING ABOUT THESE MODERN DAY DICK TURPINS? Where are the MEN in this Country?
June 28 2012 at 5:23 AM Report abuse Permalink +1 rate up rate down ReplyAbout time ! Barclays have been brought to account! For years their 'speculative' trading arm has been has been the private domain of 'spivs and chancers' especially when the biggest chancer of all Bob Diamond was imported from the U.S. banking business. Bankers ,Speculators and Politicians operate on a 'nod and a wink' basis, carrying on dubious practices in the hope of not being caught out , then when the wheels come off denying all knowledge of the events. These people live in a world remote from the reality of everyday living as it affects the rest of the population and are so full of their self importance and invincibility that they put two fingers up to the rest of us!! I for one take exception to this treatment! An apology from BD and the 'sacrifice' of bonus is not sufficient, resignation is demanded at the very least! With regard to 'kicking' Barclays the public and business have the means to do so! Hit them financially! Close your personal and business accounts and move to another bank and watch the share price plummet!! Make them squirm! Thank you
June 28 2012 at 5:10 AM Report abuse Permalink +2 rate up rate down ReplyThis is criminal and they should be prosecuted if it can be proven - this is a crime against the British public whose taxes were used to prop up the banks and to provide a guarantee against a repeat of the crisis happening. Meanwhile our poor country is on it's knees struggling to pay of the deficit and these b****ds get off scott free.
