"Meanwhile, the Transport Salaried Staffs Association (TSSA) said it was balloting more than 500 of its members on the West Coast line for strike action over the suspension of a union rep by Virgin Trains."
One has to ask the question how this "rep" was suspended, by the feet hands or maybe neck...........
union reps are there to do a job ( REPRESENT THE MEMBERS OF THE UNION) not run the company - or is that too much to ask?
"General secretary Bob Crow said: "With deals now concluded that recognise the massive additional effort of the workforce on the vast majority of transport operators, it is a scandal that SW Trains, Greater Anglia and First Great Western have decided to try and force their staff to work longer and harder for little or nothing in return."
Another Left wing union leader - who breads these idiots?
If these staff are rostered to work, then they should work as normal shift. If they work extra hours then overtime should be paid. Why should they get a bonus, who do they think they are?? Bankers!! This bonus culture needs to be stopped for everyone. Put the extra money into creating jobs and not into the already well paid's pockets.

You can only drive on train, one bus and one tube train and can only carry a limited number of passengers, its not going to hurt your hand , the driving equipment wont be any heavier to use nor the buses harder to steer if they are full, no different from the London's morning and evening rush hour . The £500 bonus is more that the state pension for a month , and how many days will the public transport worker have to work for the bonus a couple of extra days each , because they cant drive for longer hours without plenty of breaks, more than the cleaners and security will get .
Extra money for working while the Olympics are on? Give them all the sack. There are plenty of people who'd appreciate jobs. We should get rid of the dead wood (staff and unions).

July 02 2012 at 10:05 AM Report abuse Permalink +1 rate up rate down ReplyI am one of many who will NOT be traveling into London, along with serious numbers of 'working at home' government employees. Mr Crowe & co are not at all convincing. It's another communist agenda to damage the economy and hand business to overseas competitors.
July 02 2012 at 9:33 AM Report abuse Permalink +1 rate up rate down ReplyIt's another scam designed to get money under false pretencers if you ask me. Typical of the unions.
July 02 2012 at 10:34 AM Report abuse Permalink +2 rate up rate down ReplySorry I meant pretences obviously.
