Tesco for one does NOT sell tap water in their 17p bottles or I would be really ill. I react badly to tap water because of the chlorine and chemicals and I am fine with Tesco bottled water. I have now got filtered water from my own water supply and both same so maybe Tesco is filtering the tap water but it is not the same as tap water because I would be reacting. Hope this reassures others - I get fed up lugging 7-10 bottles of water home every week because of allergies but have no choice, just very thankful they are at an affordable price.

August 20 2012 at 4:26 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyBottled water is a rip off, but the daily mail report was grossly misleading, aided and abetted by some stupid comments from the Companies themselves. Of course table water is ordinary water tarted up. It is not mineral water from a source to be compared with Perrier and the like - although god knows why anyone spends a fortune on those either. It was old news badly reported!

August 20 2012 at 11:56 AM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyAll bottled water has come from a tap somewhere in the processing ... I'm sure they don't take each bottle to the spring and hand dip it to fill it... So technically it is tap water... The question should be, is it mains water...
