So they are cutting fares by 15% and the government is being pushed to scrap subsides - should be interesting!!!
September 04 2012 at 5:27 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyGreening needs to get a grip,First group's take over would mean a downgrading of standards and services on the West Coast line , Virgin has worked hard to establish this line as one of the cleanest and friendliest in the UK whereas First group dont give a toss about customer satisfaction ,anyone who has had the discomfort of travelling via First group will know what I am talking about
September 04 2012 at 4:04 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyHaving studied some of First Groups recent disposals in its bus buiness, where they have withdrawn services because they say theyu make a loss. Leaving communties without bus services.
They said they were losing money and needed to sell the routes, now they have just won the West Coast main line, there are a number of concerns having looked at the performance of First great Western and the so called improvements which have not happened. Also any expert will tell you 10% profit is not attainable the figures just dont add up. I am no expert but something fishy is going on because it does not make finachial sense.
Obviously a case of very sour grapes from Branson!

August 28 2012 at 2:57 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplySir Richard, if you read my post please think long and hard re my suggestion to you. You can hit!!! Start to put a plan together re purchasing NEW Hydrogen Powered Busses and then go to the Green Party with your proposal re running busses in London and then expanding your network across the UK! Your competitors would be crippled with your services as they would no longer be able to run the Diesel powered busses. They won't be able to afford to change the busses as they are already committed to purchasing new for the Olympic Games! You could hold the Monopoly of the Bus Trade, You could put them out of Business not only with the Bus industry but the Rail too as it would be a Knock on effect! I would love you to win Sir Richard as I have the deepest admiration for you as a self made Billionaire! I am dyslexic too with a few failed businesses to my name. Good luck! Hit the Tory Bullies where it hurts!

August 28 2012 at 2:20 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyWon't be at all surprised if First Group fails to deliver having made undertakings they can't fulfill and tax-payers have to come to the rescue with yet more £billions in subsidies.
