Yes it"s true...................
a small amount of people want to persuade the larger population that scotland will be better off on it"s own?
In the future world not being part of the wider world is going to be like shooting yourself in the foot?
Scotland is not immune to thatwhoever this millionaire is theres one thing for sure!
HE"S WRONG!!
It seems to be always the Scotish politicians and very wealthy Scots that cry out loud for Scotlands Indepedence.
You can bet that 99% of Scots will not get their nose in the trough.
They will end up paying for the 1% who snuffle up the rewards though.
Now let me see,Southern Ireland went independent in 1922,it's done well?, HASN''T it? they like blow their own trumpets, but no one wants to live there. Its not our fault they backed the wrong side in the war! everyone hates the English but they all want to live here!

September 09 2012 at 6:31 AM Report abuse Permalink +1 rate up rate down ReplyThe UK in particular the English parliament has been run by plenty of Scots for generations yet we are all in the muck! Most of those making the major decisions which effect only England are either scottish or those whose families are predominantly scottish. I find it strange than a leading scottish figure can be so determined to want fiscal independence given the track record suggested. English people would like an English parliament when it comes to decisions which effect only them (I am an anglo celt). When unpleasant and often unreasonable charges are enforced upon the English public, those voting in favour are from Scotland yet they refuse to enforce the same rules upon themselves (keep in mind that English people are paying that bill as well). Pot and kettle consistenly comes to mind. No doubt this is another highly patriotic Scot who doesnt live there, bit like Sean Connery.
September 09 2012 at 5:21 AM Report abuse Permalink +1 rate up rate down ReplyPerhaps you didnt notice the tory party has one MP from Scotland is there some sort of special voting system that lets him and a couple of lib dems out vote the rest of the government. When the English regions were offered devolved government they did not want it, rightly in my view As for the English people paying the bill perhaps you should stop reading the Sun, sorry the edition that is published in England, and do some independent fact finding
September 09 2012 at 9:38 AM Report abuse Permalink -1 rate up rate down Replymnkim might well have been referring to the vile Labour Party that has done so much harm. Gordon Brown (who allowed the economy to be wrecked while he was chancellor, then PM) was Scottish and held a Scottish seat. Didn't he??
September 09 2012 at 2:13 PM Report abuse Permalink +1 rate up rate downCan anyone tell me where does Jim live? I am betting it's not scotland. It does seem very funny how any scot who as a few quid seems to live anywhere but their home land. I love scotland and if I were rich I would for sure ensure all my taxes went to scotland.

September 09 2012 at 3:43 AM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyThe quicker Scotland gets out of this noose which has been round our necks for 300 years the better.its time for Scotland to regain its confidence in the world and be proud of who we are. England is in a cultural and ecconomical mess and unless we break away and take control of our borders, oil, fish stocks, whiskey, coal, water etc etc it will be too late.
