You only have to look at how other foreign corporate business has fleeced our country and lined the pockets of the politicians and others who give them the nod.. its a disgrace and only enough voices can ever hope to change this ..so be heard ! !
September 15 2012 at 5:20 AM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyAs an ex Avro worker (Vulcan and 748), it always seemed to me that BAE took the risk of mainly working on military aircraft. It put too much emphasis on protecting the Preston sites via middle -east work in combination with the RAF projects. I think it made a mistake by moving into the US and detaching itself from airbus. As Ronnie says, the Uk cannot ever again finance a military set up and also, what happens when the Saudi oil runs out? How will they pay for the next generation of military jets either from us or the US.

September 14 2012 at 5:16 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyWe allowed our utility companies to be bought by the French and Germans, something that would be blocked by law in France, consequently our mega high energy bills go a long way to subsidise our fellow europeans bills, and the profit made goes into their pockets, and now we give away what's left of the family silver as well. Why do we do it, when no other nation in Europe would ever allow it?

Result the wipeout of several UK high tech companies Sometimes they call it a joint venture that ends with the same loss of jobs

Seen it all before; been there, done that, got the T shirt!!!
ndjohnson 767 - BAE has 3 strategic choices- merge with European aerospace companies like EADS with a lot of commercial aviation business as well as defence equipment , merge with a US aerospace company again with commercial as well as defence business or slowly go out of business as the UK Defence spending ( on which it very largely depends ) declines .
We are still the second largest aerospace industry after the USA- it sems prudent to protect the longer term future of the industry - otherwise we will have NO aerospace jobs - not simply fewer

got the T shirt eh seen it all must know all the facts then beeen to all the talks between EADS and BAE, you probably know also then that BAE was a partner in airbus until a couple of years ago but sold out to EADS. I work for EADS (airbus) in N Wales and I think you should base your posts on facts. There that was very polite and restrained of me. By the way whats the T shirt you have got ?
