Laying=Rethinking, that is of course for the Tories and Mr Cameron.
Let us get rid of them all asap.
ronnieince - this is precisely what brandylovage is saying. Women do do very well out of pensions as they usually live longer, and they should not be complaining now that equality has been introduced.
September 18 2012 at 2:10 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyIt does appear that women born pre WW11 possibly live longer than their partners but there is some evidence that women born post WW11 do not. Not sure if it due to changes in smoking trends after the war or possible changes in the work environment. If you examine films made just after the war, there does appear to be a push on smoking. To give two examples, 11 o'clock High and The Dam Busters. Although possibly these films were made for male audiences in the main, both Richard Todd and Gregory Peck were admired by women. If you don't beleive these facts, just go and visit your local crematorium garden of remberance and you will see a lot of post WW11 womens christian names.

What I am furious about is that the Government changing the Pension age for Women. My wife will have to wait another 4 years+ for her state Pension. I will never vote for the Conservatives again
September 18 2012 at 4:04 AM Report abuse Permalink +2 rate up rate down Replyholeyn your wife like many women wanted equality retirement age should have risen to 66+ as they live longer youre talking like a woman !are you one? or just henpecked
September 18 2012 at 4:39 AM Report abuse Permalink -3 rate up rate down Replybrandylovage - Women do hugely well out of pensions - they retired earlier , paid in for fewer years and collected their pensions for on average 7 years longer - hardly fair to the other 50% of the population.
Whatever future State Pensions policy is to be it should be equally fair to all in terms of contributions and retirement age and should directly reflect the contributions you make during your working life .
