Labour steps up tax cut pressure

i really don"t know if any party has the ability to run a party let alone a country. But for sure LABOUR have no idea at at they cost us trillions. in benefits much going to people without even a british passport, free healtrh care to anyone who turns up and wishes to take it up, housing for just about anyone who asked for it, no control over the bankers, the bank of england, two wars lets forget about the money involved the massive loss of live and the injured british service people, what have they endured, the selling of gold at rock bottom prices the human rights they gave to non british passports holders to sue us using lawyers paid for by the tax payer, the dome the olympics, the non border ontrols on non british workers coming here for jobs from the E U around 50% is the average workforce in any british company, the outsourceing of call centres to third world countries the list was massive and endless under LABOUR hence our problems now. ten years would be quick for any goverment to get us out of this mess it took 13 years to get us into it so please no leactures from any LABOUR MPs you had your chance and screwed the tax payer right up

The country needs to export more, import less, import substitute, reduce state expenditure and create blockbuster products.
High tax rates can act as a disincentive, BUT as long as it's reasonable, when compared to our overseas competitors we should be relaxed about it. However two governments have changed our top rate and we have nothing demonstrable to show for it.
Mr Osborne, a yes man, has been led by the nose and caught in a political trap. What good has he done the conservative party or the nation? Listen to him this week and perhaps we will find out.

Gordon Brown knew he would lose the last election. He increased the top rate of income tax to 50% just prior to that event so that The Labour Party could yah boo the present government for reducing the rate again, as indeed he knew would be the case. Yes folks, even Gordon was right about some things! Setting tax rates at unreasonable levels will not get Britain out of recession. A 50% rate of tax on income simply drives away both entrepreneurs and capital investors. Of course, the vast majority who are not educated in economics will not understand this, making the chances quite high that they will vote Labour back in next time. Lord help us if they do. Ideally, tax rates - income, capital gains, corporation tax should all be at a level which encourages innovation, investment and hard work across the whole of society. May I suggest 20% across the board as being about right. Then we would indeed see some real growth in the economy and a real increase in the total tax take by HMRC. We may then even be able to afford to pay benefits out of the wealth we create, instead of the way we do currently.................via "quantative easing" ( printing new money) which simply devalues everyone's pound in the pocket, or borrowing it now for our children and grandchildren to pay back when we have all shuffled off this mortal coil. That's at the heart of Labour policy. How bankrupt an idea is that?

Labour would rather be Tax and spend

Historically, all major civilisations crashed because benefits exceeded taxes. In last 15 years the parties promoted and cultivated a benefits culture that far exceed afforability otherthan via borrowing. That's the criminal act that has never been addressed even today. It was taboo subject to speak of it similar to many other issues that should have been addressed.

Everytime there is mention that a particular benefit is to be reduced there is up roar from the oublic, labour and the media. It is all talk talk and drag on and on. Best thing to have done was to cut public sector by a cross the board cut of 20% back in 2010 and at same time increase taxes so that the kitty can be replenished to reinvest in the economy or reduce borrowing. The consequences of not acting can been seen.

Why didn't the labour party when they were last in power do anything about high taxes food fuel all went up bill's etc etc, voters don't forget, I remember when labour were in power and there was a poster saying Labour don't work. let's not go back to those days.

How about doing something that will really make a difference to everyone in the country and step up pressure for fair utility bills.

As a boy I was always taught Tories are there to make the rich richer, and get the people who think they are rich vote for them and help them keep the poor. Poor! And it is so True.

looks like labours approach to the next election will be one of us and them.a bit strange when millibands speech mantra was one nation.labour taxed everyone out of existence when they were in office then wasted billion upon billion upon billion.so making it look like labour would only tax the rich is not only misleading its also dishonest.tell the british public the truth milliband,its the only way you will ever be elected,we had thirteen years of labour lies..
