DebenhamsDebenhams has warned parents to stop using a range of Ted Baker baby suits over concerns faulty zips were scratching infants' faces.

The snow suits and jackets were recalled in what the company said was a "precautionary measure to ensure the safety of our customers".

People who bought or received the items have been urged by Debenhams to stop using them immediately and return them to any store, where they will receive a full refund.

Seven products designed for children aged zero to 24 months have been recalled, including snowsuits for boys and girls, and one jacket for girls aged 12 months to five years.

The clothes were on sale between August 6 and November 23, 2012 in Debenhams stores and online in the UK and Ireland.

A Debenhams spokesman said that four complaints had been made about the zips hurting the faces of babies.

In a statement the company said: "Please be assured that the safety and performance of our products is always our primary concern. We are very sorry for any inconvenience caused."

Any queries about the recall should be directed to the Debenhams customer service lines at 0844 800 8877 in the UK and 1890 946 779 in Ireland.
