And more are putting a foreign holiday at the top of their spending priorities than did so last year, a survey by tour operator Thomas Cook found.

n a similar poll last year, just a third of responders said an overseas break was their main priority.
This year's poll reveals that this figure has now swelled to 47%.
Thomas Cook predicts that the most popular short-haul package holiday destination for summer 2013 will be Turkey, followed by Spain's Balearic and Canary islands. Mainland Spain, Greece, Cyprus and Florida are forecast to be other popular spots for UK holidaymakers next summer.
The company has launched early-booking incentives which include a "Kids for a Quid" promotion.
Thomas Cook sales and ecommerce director Mike Hoban said: "After stuffing ourselves with turkey and unwrapping our presents yesterday, research tells us that this year Boxing Day will see millions of families up and down the country start to think about booking their summer holiday."
Travel company Travel Counsellors said there had already been a bookings surge.
Managing director Steve Byrne said: "We are seeing more people booking for their summer holidays next year, with bookings made in November for summer 2013 up by 17%."
Teletext Holidays said more holidays are sold in January than any other time of the year and internet searches were likely to hit a peak on Boxing Day. Managing director Victoria Sanders said: "The January sales are getting earlier and earlier, but Boxing Day is still one of the busiest days of the year for the travel industry."
