Not the internet - Goverment! But high rates and high prices to pay these high rates. Unemployed people are no longer able to start up a business i.e a shop as they have no mortgage so they cant get a loan! Absolute nonsense! The goverment love to blame the internet for their stupidity in austerity cuts as they are so dumb in the tackling of the economy of this once fine country. Under Labour the economy at the end of there time in office was getting better!

You can get nearly anything (even if it is mediocre) from Tesco etc, anything else can be obtained via the internet nearly all made in China. People just do not have the spare time for four hours walking down a high street and catching some outside air, too busy thinking abbout the parking ticket you may get and being home for favourite tv program.
