February 19 2013 at 11:26 AM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyHigh streets are gone, i have a shop in york and my lease runs until july 2014 then im gone i opened as a florist but can not compete with supermarket prices so i called it a day and reopened as a gift shop but now i can not compete with online traders on ebay ect , a lot of these sellers do not have retail premises so sell items for little more than they buy them they have no rent or business rates (which i think is wrong) so i will close down like many other small independant shops will.

February 19 2013 at 11:33 AM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyThis will not do anything to save Morrison's competitiveness. Neither will online shopping.
What WILL improve Morrison's competitiveness is a firmer grip on prices, quality, stockouts, product choice and value.
After 40 years as a fan of Morrisons, I have now deserted them for Aldi and ASDA because of the above issues.
What do you say to that, Dalton Philips ???
There are two things guaranteed to destroy human civilisation as we know it: BREED and GREED!
Far too many people with far too much greed.
Yet another supermarket chain who were happy to destroy "local shopping" and now aim to open local shops of their own - I say boycott them!!
February 18 2013 at 2:36 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyJust what our High Streets need, more Supermarkets to steal even more trade from local independent shops..
