£10,000 prize for Britain's 'funnest family'
Carnival Cruise Line is searching for Britain's "funnest family" to travel the world testing and rating the ship's hundred of fun-filled family activities.
The winners will get to travel around the Mediterranean and the Caribbean on two cruises and one shop tour enjoying around £10,000 worth of travel.
Carnival is looking for parents with the best punchlines and penchants for rating spas and thrill seeking kids who love nothing more than rope courses, sports activities and testing out the latest 4D cinemas.
Adolfo Pérez, Managing Director of Carnival Cruise Lines UK, said: "We wanted to ensure that the features, facilities and activities are delivering as much fun as possible for British holidaymakers and there is no better way to find out than getting the UK's funnest family to put them to the test."
According to The Mirror, first in the family's to do list will be reviewing the recently-renovated Carnival Sunshine cruise ship on a nine-day cruise in the Mediterranean.
The Carnival Sunshine's £100 million revamp saw it rebranded as the 'Fun Ship 2.0' with a host of fun-filled features like Havana Bar, ShakeSpot, JavaBlue Cafe and WaterWorks and Hasbro, The Game Show.
As if that wasn't fun-packed enough, the winning family will then rate the fun factor of the Carnival Breeze in the Caribbean including scoring the ship's Punchliner Comedy Club, Thrill Theatre and sampling the food from Guy's Burger Joint.
Families who are convinced they have what it takes to be chief fun tester for Carnival Cruises should visit their website and fill out an application form or head to the Carnival Facebook page.
Is the best job ever advertised?
This isn't the first job to feature a holiday as the main incentive. Back in 2009, British man Ben Southall landed "the Best Job in the World" when he was selected from over 34,000 applicants to become a caretaker on Australia's Great Barrier Reef.
Tourism Australia hit the headlines again this year when it announced its "best jobs in the world" competition, which featured a variety of roles working in Australia such as a wildlife caretaker in South Australia, "chief funster" in New South Wales and a wine and food taster in Western Australia.
According to The Telegraph, the winning applicants will receive a six-month salary worth AUS$100,000 (£65,000), including living costs. The finalists have now been picked and you can see their video applications on the Tourism Australia website.
In January this year holiday and travel agent First Choice advertised a £20,000-a-year water slide tester job.
Will you and your family be applying for Carnival's job or do you think it's all a bit of a joke? After all, Carnival Cruise was in the news for all the wrong reasons earlier in the year when the Carnival Triumph was stranded for five days in the ocean without working toilets in February.
