Fast credit – and how to get it

posted : 10-22-08 02:15 EDT comments : 9

- Check your credit score online
- 0% balance transfer credit cards
- Tips to fast credit and how to get it

In these days of bank bail-outs, jittery stock markets and mortgage drought, it'd be easy to think that quick credit is a thing of the past. But you’d be wrong. Although credit is undoubtedly harder to come by than it used to be, there are still many ways that you can borrow in less than 24 hours.

A trip along any high street shows that there are a multitude of retailers ready and willing to offer store cards or interest-free deals, on products ranging from must-have fashion to designer sofas and electrical goods. Beyond the shopping mall, car dealerships and catalogue companies are still so eager for custom that they’ll set an account on the spot, while even a bank will give an instant answer on an overdraft or loan.

Popular Money Products

Product Provider Rate
Loans Alliance & Leicester 8%
Credit Cards Virgin Money 0%
Savings ING Direct 3.2%
Current Account Alliance & Leicester 6.00% from £1
Cash ISA Nationwide Building Society 4.5%

But before you hotfoot it to sign on the dotted line, you need to know what you’re letting yourself in for. Even though fast credit is still available, lenders are getting increasingly cautious – so don’t spoil your chances by not being prepared.

These tips will help you to get the deal you want – and avoid rushing into something you later regret.

• Remember, the best place to start getting your credit history in shape – and improve your image with lenders – is your credit report. You can check your Experian credit report for free with a trial of CreditExpert, the UK’s leading online credit monitoring and ID fraud protection service.

Nothing wrong with Experian as far as I can see. They really do work. I speak from previous experience of being a victim of identity fraud. Experian helped me sort everything out no fuss at all. They ask for card details in case you want to continue after 30 day trial. Just like it says in the T&C's. I know that to date I have an excellent credit rating score.

Experian bills you after 30 days if you don't notify them that you want to discontinue the service- but you have to do it before the 30 days are up or you'll be charged! That's in the fine print, and it is rather misleading. However, I used the 30 day free trial and on the 30th day cancelled my subscription without any charges. It was really more trouble than it was worth.

I agree experian is not free, they just want you to forget about giving your details and then they can charge you before you have chance to realise what they have done. They are rip off merchants!!

I also agree that Experian should be, as it states, a "free" service, but it is not and charges soon disappear out of an account once the details have been given. I think it causes more stress than it prevents!

I thiink AOL has a duty to not mislead its members with these sorts of adverts, Experian is not free. If they need proof that you are who you say you are then there needs to be another way without taking credit card details and charging for a "free" service!

As everyone i to feel that this EXPERIAN and company's of this sort should not exist, for they do not help at all for those who honestly need help.
